About udns
udns.io is a fast, privacy-friendly set of DNS and web diagnostic tools, built for developers, system administrators, and technically curious users who want clear answers without unnecessary tracking or clutter.
Why udns exists
Many online DNS and network tools are overloaded with ads, require accounts, or aggressively log user activity. udns was created to be:
- Fast and simple to use
- Technically accurate and transparent
- Respectful of user privacy
- Useful without forcing heavy client-side frameworks
What udns provides
- DNS record lookups (A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT, NS, SOA, PTR)
- Resolver comparison to help spot caching or propagation issues
- WHOIS lookups for domains and IP addresses
- HTTP and TLS inspection tools
- Reverse IP (PTR) lookup utilities
Tools are added gradually, with a focus on correctness, clarity, and long-term maintainability.
Privacy approach
udns does not require accounts and does not embed third-party analytics scripts. Requests are logged only to the extent necessary to operate the service safely (for example, rate limiting and abuse prevention).
